The 1st Annual 2008 Hoosier Amateur National.                              

The countries best amateur motocross racers will descend on Dirt Motocross Race Park in Kingsbury Indiana to compete for one of 44 National titles. Riders are drawn by prestige and top - caliber competition. This years event will feature a 3- moto championship format. Every rider will race the first two motos of their class.  The top 30 overall scorers in the first two motos will advance to the third moto.  Class champions will be determined by the best overall score from all three races.

You can enter as many classes in your age and ability - there is no limit.  Age as of 1-01-08. Rider must present an AMA district, or NMA card to register if you do not have ether you   must contact us at 1- (219)-369-1787.

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

Your Qualified.  No qualifiers required to enter the 1st Annual Hoosier Amateur National. Fill out the enclosed entry form and mail it on or before June 17th with your entry fees as instructed on the entry form.
Camping and or Parking.  There is self-contained camping and pumping services available for the motor home holding tanks at the track for participant convenience.  Camping at the park is  $40.00 for the event. 
Entry and Gate Fees.  The pre-entry fee for your 1st class is $50.00.  Each additional class will be $40.00.  The entry must be postmarked on or before June 17th.  All entries not mailed by this date will pay a post entry fee of $60.00 for each class.  The gate fee is $10.00 per person per day (5 years and under free)  payable upon arrival at the event.
Food Concessions.  Food concessions will be available at the track.  All new port-a-pots will be provided.  Trash containers will be provided and we ask that you help keep the facility clean.  The park is located at the intersection of 3rd and Central, Kingsbury Industrial Park, Kingsbury, IN.

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:
Sunday, June 29, 2008:
7:00 AM
gates open.  North Gate open to pre-entry riders and families only.  Please use 3rd road as you approach track from the north.  All post-entry riders and their families please use the South Gate.   If 3rd road is backed up please feel free to use 4th road head south for 1 mile turn right on Central, go 1 mile turn right on 3rd road and enter at South GateAll pre-entry riders that have pre-paid camp site fees will have their name and bike # on a sign designating their camp site location.  All post-entry riders camp sites will be on a "first come" basis.  There are approximately 20 acres of on site camping and 40 acres of off site camping.
8:00 AM-1:00 PM -  All pre-entry riders will gain access to the track for our open ride.  All post-entry riders will join them, only after all entry paperwork is completed.  
1:00 PM - Registration will close at 1:00 PM for all 20 minute-moto classes and all plus classes only.  Registration will continue for all other classes so do not panic!
2:00 PM - At 2:00 PM we will open with a short riders meeting for the 20 minute moto classes and plus classes, have opening prayer, pause for National Anthem.
2:30 PM  - At 2:30 PM will be the 1st gate drop for the 2008 Hoosier Amateur National. 
8:00 PM - By 8:00 PM all 20 minute- moto classes and all plus classes will be finished.
10:00PM - The park will be open until 10:00 PM for all late arrivals.  Security will be available for all emergencies.

Monday, June 30, 2008:
7:00 AM
- The South Gate will open at 7:00 AM.  Post entries for late arrivals will end when the gate drops for their first moto!  All classes will run their first motos on Monday except, all 20 minute-moto classes and plus classes; will run their 2nd motos.
10:00 PM - The park will be open until 10:00 PM.  Security will be available for all emergencies.

Tuesday, July 1, 2008:
7:00 AM -
The South Gate will open at 7:00 AM.  All classes will run their 2nd motos on Tuesday except, all 20 minute-moto classes and plus classes; will run their 3rd and final motos.  As soon as scores are posted we will have the trophy and prize presentations for all 20 minute-moto classes and plus classes.  The podium photo shoot -1st, 2nd, and 3rd place competitors only.
9:00 PM - Hoosier Amateur National/Mad Bomber Fireworks presentation.
11:00 PM -
The park will be open until 11:00 PM Security will be available for all emergencies.

Wednesday, July 2, 2008:
7:00 AM -
South Gate will open at 7:00 AM.  All remaining classes will run their 3rd and final motos.  As soon as scores are posted we will have the trophy and prize presentations.  The podium photo shoot - 1st, 2nd and 3rd place competitors only.

Important Information:  It is the rider's responsibility to enter in the proper classes per their ability, age and cycle class per Hoosier Amateur National rules.  Send in your entry as soon as possible to avoid the post-entry fee.  The postmark deadline for mail entries is 6/17/08.  All numbers on bike side and front must be clear and easy to read and score.  It is required that they be either black on white or white on black background.  No "overlapping", "scroll" numbers will be allowed.  All rules area available per request or on line at www.kingsburymx.com.  It is the rider's responsibility to be at staging and show up for motos entered as posted and announced.  No one, other than operation officials are allowed on the track.  NO PIT RIDING.  Walk your bike in areas outside the track.  No entry refunds will be returned if notification to Dirt Motocross Inc. via letter or phone is not received by 6/18/08.  No entry refund will be given for any post-entries at the Hoosier Amateur National.


HOOSIER AMATEUR NATIONAL RULES:
Entrants, riders, participants are required to know and understand the rules and regulations that cover the event and are (by reason of the entry) definitely bound by such rules and regulations.  Each participant in competition has the responsibility to assess the safety aspects of the track, facilities and conditions and must assume the risk of competition.

General Rules for Competition:
There must be at least five (5) entries to make up a class at the Hoosier Amateur National.  If there are less than 5 entries, they will compete in the next higher age group or rider class as applicable and will be eligible for trophies and awarded points according to how the finish in the higher class only.
    1.  The motorcycle used in the first moto must be used by the rider for all motos of the event.
    2.  One bike may be entered by two or more riders for other events within the same bike classification by paying proper entry fees.
    3.  NO one except riders officially entered may ride or practice on the race course at ANY time.
    4.  If a rider leaves the course during the race for any reason, whether mechanical or physical, and then decides to resume the race, the rider must re-enter at his point of exit before another lap can be counted in his or her favor.  If it is unsafe or impossible to re-enter at the point of exit, then they must re-enter the race track where they consider it safe to do so and not bettering their position.
    5.  If a moto is stopped because one or more riders are obstructing progress of the moto, that rider(s) may not be allowed to continue in the re-start of that moto, as determined by the event officials.
    6.  Officials will determine if a moto needs to be restarted.
    7.  If for any reason a moto must be stopped, it well be considered completed if over 50% of the race has been recorded.
    8.  A lapped rider must move over at all times or he will be black flagged.
    9.  Any foul riding, unnecessary bumping, crowding, lack of caution, blocking or other unsportsman like conduct during a moto is grounds for disqualification or penalty as determined by race officials.
    10.  Officials will not be responsible to locate entrants for the events they are entered in.
    11.  Officials are not responsible for any occurrence that results in "back to back" motos for a rider who enters multiple race events.  The rider's representative must notify officials of the occurrence and be available at the start area for consultation.
    12.  No one, rider or representative, will be allowed to hold or station themselves in a preferred position on the start line in advance of their moto.  No practice starts at any time.
    13.  Flags used to communicate with riders on the track.  Riders must take appropriate action:
            Green -     Start of the race (the 30 second board on starting gate).
            Yellow -     Danger on track, use caution.
            Red -         Stopping moto for an emergency situation.
            Black -     Disqualification of rider.  Rider is to pull off track.
            White -     One lap to go to finish.
            Black&White- Checkered flag.  Finish, end of moto.  Racers should continue to race until they are given the checkered flag.  It is possible a racer may never see the white flag only the checkered.  Officials Scorers Lap Sheets and decisions are final.
    14.  All riders must have ankle or higher boots, proper helmets (current snell standards), eye and full upper and lower body coverage (such as "race" pants and full arm race jersey).
    15.  The rider is responsible for the conduct of himself and his parents, tuners or anyone else associated with him or her.  Hoosier Amateur National Officials reserve the right to refuse entry or participation to anyone including their right to enter the property where the event is being presented, whether it be a participant, parent or anyone deemed by officials as associated with same.         
    16.  Any verbal harassment of officials will be grounds for immediate disqualification and/or fine for those riders or parties involved.  Any physical abuse to officials will be grounds for permanent disqualification of the rider and local police authorities will be notified.
    17.  Soliciting and/or distributing of literature or products is allowed at the Hoosier Amateur Nationals with prior approval from Dirt Motocross Inc   
    18.  No refunds or rain checks will be issued in any classes once you have ridden on the track for practice or racing.
    19.  All trophies, prizes, etc.  that are not picked up on day of event, Dirt Motocross Inc.  will ship them at rider expense and request.
 
    20.  Officials reserve the right to prevent anyone from competing in any event if the rider or bike does not comply with the rules.
     21.  30% Trophies awarded based upon number of entries in each class.  4 entries and less move up to next higher class.

HOOSIER AMATEUR NATIONAL -STOCK RULES:
 (applies to all stock classes 50cc thru 450cc)
The "stock" rules are established to allow for safety, handling performance and to allow the cycle suitable for competition racing.
    1.  Must have original engine, carburetor, frame, front suspension exhaust system, silencer, friction clutch or internal gears as supplied by manufacturer for that particular model.  Must also have original manufacturers' brakes, swing arm and gas tank.  Must utilize original shock mounting on frame and swing arm.  No change to engine, electronics or carburetor components will be allowed.  No port clean up or "Blue printing" engine allowed, including dimensional matching of parts by selectivity.  Removal or change of gaskets, "O" rings or other components not allowed.
   2.
  No components may be altered, changed or added to.  No factory options that contribute to the increase of power or factory bolt-on kits to replace original stock parts will be allowed.  Exception:  12"rim/tire front may be installed on 7-8 and Super Pee Wees.
    3.  The only exceptions or changes in the stock class will be allowed for safety, such as handlebars, triple clamps, throttles, foot pegs, rear shock, seat cover, fenders, tires, front and rear sprockets, spokes and rims (replacement rim must be the same size as original stock rim).  Carburetor jets (removable type) may not exceed 25% larger than original stock jet.  The frame may be strengthened by adding metal via welding or may be repaired via welding (or similar).  Chain guides and tensioners will be allowed.  Air cleaner and box may be removed or replaced.  Graphics/stickers may be changed.  Clutch and brake levers may be changed.  Hand guards may be added.
    4.  On front suspension springs, oil and valving may be changed in forks.  All other components must remain stock.  Rear suspension must utilize original mount locations, after market shock may be utilized.  Kickstands must be removed.
    5.  After market pistons and rings will be allowed providing specifications are the same as original factory pistons and rings for that year/model bike.  Overbore and stroking not allowed in stock classes.
    6.  Bike and motor must be assembled by manufacturer and stocked by dealer with brand of motor supplied on that model to be considered stock and must be available to the public without special ordering or modifications from the manufacturer or dealer.  The bike must have a manufacturer's model number.  All new products must have had 200 or more manufactured and must be in the United States and available to the public for sale, including 2008 products.
    7.  Stock qualification is limited to that model year.  Definition:  You cannot upgrade last year's model to current year's specs.  All other bike and rider limitations will be per the judgment of the Chief Tech inspector and will be final.  The Chief Tech inspector will have the decision on any addition or deletion to a machine.
    8.  A stock bike may be raced in the modified classes.

PEE WEE SPECIFICATIONS:
The Pee Wee class is for riders up through 8 yrs. old except for the Super Pee Wee class which allows riders through age 9.  The Pee Wee bike is a special model made for this class by major manufacturers and must be designed to meet the following specifications:  All stock bike models must have had 200 or more manufactured and must be available to the United States Public at dealers, with proof of import.  The maximum Pee Wee size is Rims 10" and Tires 2.75 x 10" in both Stock and Modified classes except in Super Pee Wee Class and 7-8 class which may have a 12" front rim,  tire size 2.75 x 12" max. 
  The STOCK CLASS engine displacement is 51cc MAX with overbore allowed only to those overbore size pistons specified by original manufacturer of the particular model bike and engine.  Oil injection may be disconnected on PW50.  NOTE:  Foot or hand-operated brakes may be used on both stock and modified Pee Wee bikes.  Overall length limited to 38" in 4-6 and 42" in 7-8, measured from axle to axle centers.  For further stock class rules, see STOCK CLASS RULES & Technical Safety Rules.
PEE WEE                                        -Maximum engine displacement is 61cc

MODIFIED CLASS:                      -Must use original engine type lower end & cylinder.  Single

     All Pee Wee Bikes must function through a centrifugal clutch.  Any other changes or modifications for this bike must meet the approval  of the Race Manager.

ALL STOCK BIKE MODELS MUST HAVE A QUANTITY OF 200 IN THE COUNTRY AND BE AVAILABLE FOR SALE BY DEALER.

JR. CYCLE SPECIFICATIONS:
The Jr. Cycle class is for those riders in the younger age bracket who compete on the small rim minicycles.  The Jr. Cycle class is designed for those bikes made by a major manufacturer and that have the original product appearance of a small minicycle.  The bike must be from the original manufacturer with a manufacturer's model number.  The bike may be modified within the Dirt Motocross Inc. technical and safety regulations and per the following:
    1.  Wheel base not to exceed 46" from axle to axle centers.
    2.  Handle bar width not exceed 30".   
    3.  Maximum displacement is 65cc.  No overbore or stroking allowed that exceeds the class limit.
    4.  Maximum rim size is 14" and minimum is 12".
    5.  Must function through a multiple speed gear box.
The stock class for Jr. Cycles is defined under Stock Class Rules within these rules. 
The modified class must meet the following specifications and limits.
    1.  No shortened or lowered frames or shortened swing arms allowed to reduce a non-conforming bike to meet Jr. Cycle specs.
    2.  Modifications of the original frame and swing arm are allowed for the purpose of performance, safety or added strength.
    3.  Must utilize the original engine type lower end and cylinder from that bike model being modified.
    4.  You cannot assemble a Kawasaki engine into a KTM frame or any similar combination.
    5.  Change of head, clutch, carburetion, exhaust system, ignition, sprockets and suspension is optional.

MINICYCLE SPECIFICATIONS:
    1.  Maximum length for minicycles is 52" axle to axle centers.
    2.  Maximum front rim size 17" and minimum rear rim 14".
    3.  Handlebar span cannot exceed 32".
    4.  Maximum engine displacement in minicycle two strokes is 85cc or 150cc in four strokes.
*The 150R Four Stroke is allowed in the 12-13 and the 14-16 age group.
The engine can in no way exceed this 85cc limit in two strokes.  No overbore or stroking allowed.  The stock class is defined under Stock Class Rules within these rules.  The Modified Class will be open to engine, frame, rim and suspension modifications providing they do not exceed the minicycle specifications listed in Numbers 1,2,3 and 4 above.

SUPER MINI CYCLE SPECIFICATIONS:
    1.  Maximum rim size is 19" on front and minimum of 14" on rear.
    2.  Overall wheelbase cannot exceed 55" from axle to axle centers.
    3.  Maximum engine displacement including overbore is 112cc for a two stroke and 150cc for a four stroke.
    4.  The Super Mini Class is through age 16.
    5.  All products listed above under Minicycle Products are also eligible to race the Super Mini Class.

MOTORCYCLE SPECIFICATIONS:
The Hoosier Amateur National provides classes for 125cc and 250cc two strokes and 250 and 450 four stroke size motorcycles.  No minicycles are allowed.  A bike that qualifies for the Super Mini Class will not be allowed to complete in the motorcycle classes.
All bikes competing in the motorcycle classes must be of original manufacturer (including Model No.) by a nationally known company.  Special frames or frame modifications are allowed providing they meet safety and technical regulations pertaining function and size relative to the frame they have replaced.  All motorcycles must be raced in the proper cc class.
No overbore or stroking allowed.  Displacement for 250 and 450cc four stroke cycles cannot exceed factory manufactured size for the cycle model.  Two Stroke cycles allowed as follows:
125cc Max. in 250cc class, 250cc Max in 450cc class.  NOTE:  You cannot race a 250 4-stroke in the 450 class.

RIDER CLASSIFICIATIONS:
It is the duty of the individual rider to determine the class he is legal to ride in.  Entry into a class does not necessarily make you legal for the class.  You can be protested by another entrant or his representative.  Responsibility of meeting property rider classification and bike specification rests within the individual entrant.
The BEGINNER (250CC)class is for those riders who have just begun to race and have not yet competed for more than one calendar year which is a 12 month period.  The class is for those who have noted raced with any organization or racing event higher than the beginner class.      THE ONE YEAR PERIOD IS DEFINED AS FOLLOWS:  If a rider races for the first time in January of the current year, he may remain in the Beginner class until the end of January of the following year or if he races for the first time in March of the current year, he may remain a Beginner through the end of March of the following year.  This same system applies to whatever month his racing activity begins.  The time period is NOT BASED ON HOW MANY TIMES HE RACES - it is based on a ONE YEAR, 12 month period, depending on which month he starts racing on any size cycle.  NOTE:  After riding as a beginner on a smaller size bike for the one year a rider cannot ride as a beginner on a higher cc bike.
The NOVICE class is for riders who are classified as Novice or "C" and have not raced as intermediate or "B" with any organization.
The INTERMEDIATE class is for riders who are classified as Intermediate or "B" and have not raced as Pro Sport, Pro, Expert, "A", Pro-AM etc.  with any other organization.
The PRO class is for riders who race with any other organization as Pro, Expert, "A", "Money" or highest advanced class.

RELEASE AND WAIVER OF LIABILITY, ASSUMPTION OF RISK AND INDEMNITY AGREEMENT.
In Consideration
of being permitted to compete, officiate, observe, work for, or participate in any way in the EVENT (S) or being permitted to enter for any purpose and RESTRICTED AREA (defined as any area requiring special authorization, credentials, or permission to enter or any area to which admission by the general public is restricted or prohibited), EACH OF THE UNDERSIGNED, for himself, his personal representatives, heirs and next of kin:
    1.  Acknowledges, agrees, and represents that he has or will immediately upon entering any of such RESTRICTED AREAS, and will continuously thereafter, inspect the RESTRICTED AREAS and or refuse to participate further in the EVENT(S).
    2.  HEREBY RELEASES WAIVES, DISCHARGES AND COVENANTS NOT TO SUE the promoters, participants, racing associations, sanctioning organizations or any subdivision thereof, track operators, track owners, officials, car owners, drivers, pit crews, rescue personnel, any persons in any  RESTRICTED AREA, promoters, sponsors, advertisers, owners and lessees of premises used to conduct the EVENT(S), premises and event inspectors, surveyors, underwriters, consultants and others who give recommendations, directions or instructions or engage in risk evaluation or loss control activities regarding the premises or EVENT(S) and each of the, their directors, officers, agents and employees, all for the purposes herein referred to as "Releasees,", FROM LIABILITY, TO THE UNDERSIGNED, his personal representatives, assigns, heirs, and next of kin FOR ANY AND ALL LOSS OR DAMAGE, AND ANY CLAIM OR DEMANDS THEREFOR ON ACCOUNT ON INJURY TO THE PERSON OR PROPERTY OR RESULTING IN DEATH OF THE UNDERSIGNED ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE EVENT(S), WHETHER CAUSED BY THE NEGLIGENCE OF THE RELEASEESOR OTHERWISE.


I HAVE READ THE ABOVE ASSUMPTION OF RISK ACKNOWLEDGMENT, UNDERSTAND WHAT I HAVE READ AND SIGN IT VOLUNTARILY.

Reserved camp site will be offered to all pre-entry riders and their families.  Please only reserve one camp site per family.  If all on site camping fills up their is an additional 40 acres of off site camping available 1/2 mile from trackSaturday evening entry will be available to all pre-entry and reserved camp site entries.  Gates, however will be open from 8:30 PM until 11:00 PM Saturday evening only.
